I love wooden furniture and this is a perfect product with both esthetic and pratical !
My 180cm Oak desk arrived today and it is very solid and well-made. It was packaged very well and putting it together is straight forward (for one person). If I had a gripe on the assembly, it would be that they don't supply screw holes and if you don't have an electric screwdriver, it's screws into solid wood which is exhausting after a few (there are 20 altogether including 16 for the base to the desk surface, two for the power adapter and two for the height control unit.
The quality of the wood is exceptional and the grain and colouring are just exquisite - there's no other word for it. The pictures on the website of the finish don't really do it justice. The brass Oako logo on the left side of the desk looks better in real life than in the photos and I can't stop running my fingers over it.
Personally, I would have preferred more comms through the dispatch/delivery stage. I think they just get on with it but I like to be told when it's being dispatched and exactly when it'll arrive. I'm really splitting hairs here though, they said it would be despatched on a certain date but it was 5 days later due to them changing couriers. I did have to query what was happening a couple of times though.
The courier looked exhausted when he arrived and did ask me to help him carry it in to my house, which I don't mind, but I've never ever been asked to do that before. If I were you, I'd video the arrival and unboxing, just in case there's any damage. There was a hole in the corner of the base box which I took several photos of before opening, but it was fine, nothing was damaged inside.
They're not super cheap, but you get what you pay for and, so far, I think it's worth every single penny/cent. If you've been thinking about it for a while like I was, hit that buy button, you won't be disappointed.
