Warranty Period: 2 years for private customers 
Covers: Defects in material and workmanship only.

✅ Covered Under Warranty:

• Structural cracks on the usable surface that affect integrity.

• Separation of wood planks at seams due to manufacturing error.

❌ Not Covered (Expected Characteristics of Real Oak):

• Natural wood grain, knots, color variation, or tension lines.

• Minor cracks, dents, or irregularities from normal wood movement.

• Slight bending caused by room temperature or humidity fluctuation.

• Hot cup stains, water damage, or scratches without protective use.

• Damage caused by cleaning chemicals or poor maintenance.

• Manual screw damage or poor installation without recommended tools.

Note: Solid oak is a living material. Slight movement is normal and stabilizes over time once properly assembled. These are not defects but part of the wood’s natural behavior.

Inspection Period (14 Days): Please inspect your desk surface upon delivery. If you notice any visible defects — such as surface cracks, plank separation, or damage — they must be reported within 14 days of receiving the product. After this period, we assume the item was received in acceptable condition.

2-Year Warranty: Defects that arise over time due to manufacturing issues — not due to environmental exposure, misuse, or natural wood behavior — are covered under our standard 2-year warranty.

Replacements:
If a replacement is approved and the original wood type is unavailable, a top of equivalent value will be provided. If your original top included a grommet, the replacement will arrive with a cut-out only — grommet reuse is required unless otherwise arranged.

2 | ACCESSORIES & CHAIRS 

Warranty Period: 2 years 
Covers: Manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship.

OAKO accessories and chairs are crafted from a range of premium materials — including real solid oak, powder-coated steel, eco-leather, fabric, plastic, and chrome. Each item is built to meet high durability and aesthetic standards. However, coverage varies slightly depending on the material and nature of use.

✅ Covered Under Warranty:

• Structural or functional defects due to poor craftsmanship or faulty materials.

• Manufacturing failure that prevents normal use (e.g. drawer rails detaching, lifting mechanism failing on a chair, metal component breaking under standard use).

• Cracks or separations in solid wood parts that impair function and are not caused by misuse or environmental exposure.

❌ Not Covered:

• Wood Accessories:
  Monitor stands, desk drawers, and cabinets made from 100% solid oak may naturally show:

  • Small cracks, knots, wood grain irregularities

  • Minor surface shifts due to temperature or humidity changes
    These are natural behaviors of real wood, not defects, and are not covered unless they affect function. Please see Section 1: Wooden Surfaces for full details.

• Steel Accessories:
  Cable trays, monitor arms, grommets, and the metal cabinet may show:

  • Minor scratches from use

  • Paint wear or oxidation over time
    These are considered normal wear and tear and are not covered unless due to a manufacturing fault.

• Chairs:

  • KATE Chair (Lux edition): Made from genuine leather with steel/chrome base.
    Leather will age and patina naturally — small surface creases or texture changes are expected and not covered.

  • Other Chairs: Made from high-performance fabric, steel, and plastic.
    Pilling, discoloration from sun exposure, or fabric softening are considered cosmetic and not covered.

  • Any damage caused by abnormal use, overloading, or modification is not covered.

Resolution Process:

If a defect occurs within the warranty period:

• We will first assess whether the issue can be resolved with a replacement part.

• If repair is not possible, a replacement item will be sent.

• In some cases, OAKO may request return of the faulty item for inspection. If so, return shipping will be covered by OAKO.

 Note: Natural material behavior and normal wear do not qualify as defects under this warranty. For all solid oak accessories, we strongly recommend following our care guide to maintain optimal surface condition.

3 | STEEL FRAME & ELECTRIC COMPONENTS

Warranty Period: 5 years 

OAKO height-adjustable desk frames are designed for long-term reliability using powder-coated steel and certified motor systems. The warranty covers functional defects in the frame, control unit, handset, and motorized components that prevent proper use.

✅ Covered Under Warranty:

• Manufacturing defects in steel frame welds, joints, or structural elements.

• Malfunctions in motors, control boxes, or handsets due to faulty internal components.

• Electrical failure not caused by misuse, surge, or power instability.

• Leg alignment or extension issues due to internal mechanical defects.

❌ Not Covered:

• Damage due to incorrect installation, poor assembly, or misuse.

• Any issues arising after relocation or transport of the assembled desk.

• Modifications made by the customer or third-party technicians.

• Improper cable management causing damage to wiring or controls.

• Power surges, unstable voltage, or plug-in to non-certified outlets.

• Excessive weight above 160 kg or uneven loading on one side.

• Noise or movement due to lack of maintenance (e.g. tightening bolts).

• Normal wear: cosmetic scratches, marks, or minor wobble from external force.

• Environmental factors: corrosion from high humidity or extreme temperatures.

Usage Expectations:

OAKO frames are built for regular home or office use. For optimal longevity:

• Ensure weight is distributed evenly.

• Do not overload or place excessive weight on one side.

• Regularly check bolts and frame tightness after transport or long use.

• Always use the included power adapter and avoid plugging into surge-prone sources.

Note: Wear from use, surface damage, or performance changes due to external factors are not considered manufacturing defects. Our frames are precision-tested and certified for ergonomic and safe use within the outlined parameters.

GENERAL TERMS & LEGAL NOTICE (Applies to All Products)

• The warranty applies only to the original purchaser with valid proof of purchase and is non-transferable.

• All claims must be submitted via email to info@oakodenmark.dk, including a clear description of the issue and supporting photos or video.

• Compensation, when applicable, will be limited to replacement parts or store credit — not monetary refunds — and will be determined at OAKO’s sole discretion.

• Installation-related difficulties, manual tool damage, or material behavior inherent to solid oak, steel, or laminate are not considered defects.

This warranty policy is structured in accordance with Danish law and aligned with EU consumer protection regulationsfor cross-border sales, including the EU Consumer Sales Directive and the Danish Sale of Goods Act.

Consumers are entitled to remedies in cases of material defects — meaning issues that significantly affect product usability, safety, or value due to manufacturing errors. However:

• Natural material behavior (e.g., wood movement, minor cracks, knots, or color shifts),

• Cosmetic changes or wear from use,

• Improper installation, environmental exposure, misuse, or overloading are not considered defects under EU or Danish law.
