1 | WOODEN SURFACES

The oak wood surface (the SOLID desks, the ALIVE desks) come with a 2-year warranty.

Characteristics of Solid Oak Wood Tops: Our tops are made of solid oak wood and with that comes certain irregularities like knots for instance. These knots are different from one wood slab to another and this trait is one of the many traits that give solid wood its uniqueness. Therefore, the warranty does not apply to the wood grain but is limited to the defect in material and in workmanship.

Defects in Material and Workmanship: Material and workmanship defects include cracks on the usable surface that can affect the surface’s integrity and the clear separation of wood planks at the seams of the usable surface. It’s important to note that wood is a living material that does not stay still during its lifetime. It is possible that small irregularities appear under the surface or on the sides because of temperature changes or sun exposure.

Inspection and Acceptance Responsibility: At the reception of our product, it’s your responsibility to inspect the usable surface of the wooden top for defects in material and workmanship. The surface will be deemed clear of any defects if no issues are revealed by your inspection 14 days after you received the table top. Afterward, any minor cracks or irregularities is deemed to be resulting from the natural movement of the wood. 

Replacement Policy for Solid Wood Tops: In the case that a solid wood top must be changed and OAKO no longer offers the wood essence in question, OAKO reserves the right to replace the wood top by another surface with equal worth. In the event of a replacement surface, it will match the originally ordered surface model. If the original surface included a grommet and was delivered intact, the client must reuse the original grommet for the replacement surface. The replacement surface will arrive only with a cut-out space for the grommet to be inserted. If the client desires any modifications to the replacement surface compared to the original surface, additional charges will apply based on the request.​

Please note that solid wood is subject to**:

  • Variations in the wood grain (as mentioned above).

  • A slight change of color over time.

  • Minor cracks and irregularities due to normal wood movement.

  • Slight bending, if the room temperature the surface is placed in is subject to variations of temperature and/or humidity.

  • Hot cup stains, water stains or scratches if a sharp object is used on the surface of the table, without any protective intermediary surface.

  • Scratches and dents resulting from a normal everyday use of the surfaces.

  • Scratches and dents resulting from an abusive usage of the product.

  • All conditions resulting from a lack of maintenance (very little maintenance needed, refer to our care guide for more info).

  • All conditions resulting from the use of a cleaning chemical (alcohol, detergent, etc.) that damages the finish and the wood.

** These situations are not covered by the warranty

Bending of the surfaces:

  • To avoid curvature of the table tops (HPL or wood), it is recommended to distribute the weight on the surface. Any weight of more than 18kg. undistributed could cause surface curvature, and this bend is not covered by the OAKO warranty.​

2 | PURETOUCH ACRYLIC SURFACES

  • The PureTouch tops are made out of high pressure laminate and are subject to a 3-year warranty.

  • The warranty applies to the material and workmanship of the laminate surface. Material and workmanship defects are covered for cracks and bumps in the laminate surfaces upon reception of the product.

  • At the reception of our product, it’s your responsibility to inspect the laminate top for defects in material and workmanship. The surface will be deemed clear of any defects if no issues are revealed by your inspection 5 days after you received the table top.​

Please note that HPL is subject to**:

  • Discoloration, if the surface is constantly exposed to the sunlight.

  • Scratches and dents resulting from a normal everyday use of the surfaces.

  • Scratches and dents resulting from an abusive usage of the product.

  • All conditions resulting from a lack of maintenance.

  • All conditions resulting from the use of a cleaning chemical (alcohol, detergent, etc.) that damages the finish.

** These situations are not covered by the warranty

3 | ACCESSORIES & CHAIRS

 We offer a 2-year warranty if the product does not function as promised. If you encounter any issues, please contact us at info@oakodenmark.dk with a picture attached to the email and we will figure out what the issue is with you. If the issue cannot be fixed, we’ll then send you a replacement part or new product. Faulty item might will need to be returned if requested by OAKO, and return costs are covered by OAKO.

4 | STEEL FRAME AND ALL ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS 

We warrant to the original purchaser that the steel frame set, including the motors, are free from defects in design, material, and workmanship. 

  • The warranty is applicable for five (5) years for the steel frame. 

  • The warranty on motor and the electrical components is applicable for two (2) years, in the case that your handset’s screen or other electrical parts do not function due to manufacturing defects.​

The warranty is applicable but is subject, but not limited, to the limitations below:

  • Defaults caused by inadequate installation and/or use.

  • All products that were modified or repaired by the user or a third party other than OAKO Denmark.

  • Normal use damages and scratches.

  • An extensive weight used and not spread evenly on the sit-stand desk (over 160 kg).

  • Damage caused during a relocation (move) of the adjustable desk.
